What is The Bakestarters Subscription?

It's a monthly delivery of a new gourmet kit - a developed and curated box of portioned premium baking ingredients, along with a recipe to help you bake a gourmet dessert to share with your family and friends - but at a discount!

 

How is it different from the Bakestarters' basic baking kits?
Very! With the Bakestarters' basic kits, we provide the best, but basic recipes. With The Bakestarters Subscription, you get to bake the gourmet kits that are far more impressive, elaborate and delicious. We also like to throw in the occasional gift for our subscribers.
Is there a minimum time commitment?
The subscription is as flexible as you need it to be! The monthly subscription comes with no minimum time commitment. Skip a delivery, or cancel your subscription at any time. No obligations. 
I want to get a gift subcription for someone.

Our gift subscription plan is a 3-months subscription, after which, the subscription will expire and you will not be charged for it anymore.

 

How much will I be charged per box?
  • Monthly plan - S$36/month
  • 3-months Gift Subscription - S$36/month (expires after 3 deliveries)
When must I order by to qualify for this month's box?

Order by the 12th of each month to qualify for this month's box!

When should I cancel by so I don't get billed for this month's box?

Cancel by the 12th of each month so you don't get billed for this month's box. Look at the FAQ on the Subscription Portal below to learn how you can cancel your subscription. Alternatively, you can just skip this month's delivery if you're unable to bake!

What do I get in each box?

Each month, you get a curated box of premium fresh baking ingredients which are already portioned so it takes the hassle out of baking. These ingredients, along with a provided recipe, bake you a gourmet dessert, and improve your baking knowledge and repertoire. We also like to throw in the occasional cool gifts.

Subscription Portal
What is the Subscription Portal, and how do I access it?
The Subscription Portal is exclusive to The Bakestarters Subscribers. This is where you can find your billing schedule, upcoming boxes, cancellation of your subscription, and the skipping of your delivery. Here's how you access it:
  • Login (click on login at the top right corner) to your Bakestarters account.
  • Click on your name at the top right corner of the screen if you're not already at your account page.
  • Click on "Manage Subscriptions".
  • There's your Subscription Portal!
How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancelling your subscription is easy, and it takes only a few seconds. You just have to login to your account, and follow these steps:
  1. Click on "Manage Subscriptions", located on the left.
  2. Look for the subscription you want to cancel, and on the right, click "Cancel Subscription".
  3. Follow the steps to cancel.
  4. Your subscription will be cancelled and you won't be billed. (Cancel before the 12th of each month to avoid being billed for that particular month)
I'm too busy this month. Can I skip a delivery?

Definitely! If you are unable to bake, you can always skip a delivery with these simple steps:

  1. Login to your Bakestarters account.
  2. Click on "Manage Subscriptions", located on the left.
  3. Click on "Billing Schedule", located on the left.
  4. Look for the delivery you want to skip, and click "Skip" on the right side. 

Please note that if you want to skip a delivery for the month, you have to do it by the 12th.

How do I change my shipping address?

Login to your Subscription Portal, and follow these simple steps:

    1. Click on "Subscriptions" in the left menu.
    2. You can see your current shipping address above the list of subscriptions you have. Click Edit, and fill in your new details.
    3. Save.

If you want to change the shipping address for only selected subscriptions, just look for the subscription you want, and click edit on the right of it.

Baking
Do I have to choose which desserts to bake each month?
We'd like to keep things interesting and surprising. Each month, our team works hard to develop absolutely delicious and fun gourmet desserts to bake. We choose what we think is the best for the month's box. Expect a different experience each month.
How difficult is it? Will I be able to bake it successfully?
Each month, we work hard to find the sweet balance between a challenging box, and one that will still provide fun and relaxation. Bakers with some experience in baking will likely find our subscription boxes a leisure but fulfilling bake. For beginner bakers, we have baking tips in every recipe card to help you along, so fret not! In any case, we are always here to help.
Is there a preview of what I will be baking each month?
Every month, you will get an email with the list of ingredients for the month's box, along with the recommended tools that you will need. That's also when we will need you to tell us if you're allergic to any of the ingredients. The dessert however, will remain a surprise!
Will I be allergic to any ingredients in the box?
Every month, the list of ingredients for the month's box will be sent to you. If you find an ingredient(s) that you're allergic to, please reply to the email, or email us at subscription@bakestarters.com, to inform us of which ingredient(s) you are allergic to.
How long will the ingredients last?
The ingredients used from each month varies from the other, because we try our hardest to give you a different experience and project each month. For that reason, the freshness of the ingredients we pack will vary. You will find the USE BY date in each box, along with instructions on how to store them for a later use.
How will I know what bakeware/equipment I will require before receiving the box?
In the monthly email that we send to you, we also include the list of recommended equipment/tools.
Delivery
Does someone need to be home to receive the delivery?
As our kits may contain dairy products, such as butter, milk etc., we do require someone to be around to receive the delivery.
When do you deliver?
We typically deliver in the third week of each month, either on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday.
How much does shipping cost?
Free! All our subscription plans come with free shipping.
