If you have seen molten salted egg yolk lava mooncakes and gone gaga over it, we're here to tell you that you can absolutely make them at home - with a good recipe. These mooncakes are savoury (but trust me, nobody's stopping you from having it for dessert), with the right amount of salted egg yolk, and are absolutely show-stopping! And don't you worry about shaping the mooncakes - we got you (comes with a mooncake mould!).

A slightly sweet, delicate pastry paired together with a savoury filling, these mooncakes are a good option for people who want something less sweet. The pastry encasing the custard and filling is delicate, melt-in-your-mouth crumbly, and buttery, and when the salted egg yolk filling flows out... it's an absolute beauty!

Each kit comes with a mooncake plunger mould with 5 assorted designs. This kit is only available for preorder for delivery from Monday - Friday between Sept 10th - Sept 21st only. You may order kits from other collections to be delivered on the same day.

    • Cold Ingredients (milk, butter, etc): Will be packed in insulated packaging with ice packs to keep them fresh. 

    • Dry Ingredients (flour, sugar, etc): Will be packed in airtight packs, in a Bakestarters box.

    Storage Information

    You do not have to bake your Bakestarters baking kit immediately upon delivery.

    Just follow the guidelines below and you're good to go!

    • Dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder etc) can be kept in a cool, dry and dark area for 1-3 months.
    • Cold ingredients (milk, yogurt, butter etc) can be refrigerated in their packaging.

      To ensure optimum freshness, it is recommended to use chilled butter two weeks from delivery. Frozen butter can be kept for ~2 months before use.

      Milk, yogurt, and cream should be used within one week from delivery. They should not be frozen.
