The classic monkey bread consists of bread pieces doused in a cinnamon sugar and butter mixture and baked to golden, caramelly perfection. It's traditionally baked in a bundt/tube pan and made with individual bread balls that make for super fun eating! Just pick and pluck each gooey treat off the towering loaf.


In classic Bakestarters fashion, we've decided to amp it up. Orange and dark chocolate makes for a uniquely refreshing combination that'll up your monkey bread game. For our monkey bread, each individual ball of bread is stuffed with dark chocolate chips, rolled in butter and cinnamon sugar, baked to a beautiful golden brown, before being finished with a coating of tangy-sweet orange syrup. It's perfectly indulgent, but not overly sweet like its Western counterparts; we've tested it multiple times to get it to just the right amount of sweetness!

    • 8.5" bundt/tube pan or any baking pan equivalents (Baking in a tube/bundt pan is how monkey bread is commonly made, but this recipe's super versatile, and can be baked in any kind of pan. Just drop us a quick message if you're not clear about the baking time etc. We reply almost immediately!)
    • 2-3 bowls and spoons/spatula
    • Stand/hand mixer with dough hook for kneading dough (you may hand knead it too!)
    • Butter Knife (for cutting dough)

    • Cold Ingredients (milk, butter, etc): Will be packed in insulated packaging with ice packs to keep them fresh. 

    • Dry Ingredients (flour, sugar, etc): Will be packed in airtight packs, in a Bakestarters box.

    Storage Information

    You do not have to bake your Bakestarters baking kit immediately upon delivery.

    Just follow the guidelines below and you're good to go!

    • Dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt, baking powder etc) can be kept in a cool, dry and dark area for 1-3 months.
    • Cold ingredients (milk, yogurt, butter etc) can be refrigerated in their packaging.

      To ensure optimum freshness, it is recommended to use chilled butter two weeks from delivery. Frozen butter can be kept for ~2 months before use.

      Milk, yogurt, and cream should be used within one week from delivery. They should not be frozen.
