4 Things To Take Note If You Want To Bake A Better Cake

Cakes are one of the most common baked goods for celebratory occasions, but many are daunted when it comes to baking one. With accurately measured ingredients, a good recipe, and these tips, you don't have to be daunted by the thought of baking one from scratch!

1. Greasing The Pan Thoroughly, Or Use Parchment Paper

Imagine having the cake layers you baked from scratch stuck to your pan. The horror. Greasing the pan thoroughly with butter, or using parchment paper helps to ensure that your beautiful layers pop out of the pans easily. Our baking kits provide both to you because we care for you. And cake.

Did you know our baking kits provide a cube of butter for greasing? Yes, we do love you.

2. Creaming Butter & Sugar

Creaming butter and sugar will normally take a while before you can get your light yellow, fluffy texture. Also, watch the amount of sugar you add. Adding too much sugar will cause a dark crust while too little sugar can cause a light crust or a tough texture. Making sure the recipe you're following has been tried and tested is important.

Creaming your butter & sugar till it's light and fluffy incorporates air into your baked goods

3. Centre Your Pans

Place your pans as close to the centre of the oven as possible. This ensures that the cake is evenly baked. If you are using more than one pan and the oven is not wide enough for you to put them side by side, put them slightly off-centre but leave enough space for air circulation.

4. Cooling Completely Is Cool

Always let the cake cool completely before removing it from the pan. And more importantly, always let the cake cool completely before storing it in any way. If you want to learn how to store your baked goods better, it's right here.

Just remember, baking is a joy, so don't forget to share it with friends and family!
