Think light and soft charcoal swiss roll sponge rolled with an absolutely fragrant pandan gula melaka black glutinous rice filling and lightly whipped cream—we guarantee you’ll be blown away by this. At Bakestarters, we believe that you should be learning more than just the recipe for true baking know-how. So in this hands-on practical class, you will master the techniques of making a light and fluffy swiss roll sponge, and how to fill and roll it up without it cracking. You'll also learn how to make a pandan gula melaka pulut hitam filling and cook it to the perfect consistency for filling the delicate sponge, and how to sweeten and whip up cream to perfect peaks.

We firmly believe in teaching more than just recipes, and we believe that warmth and cosiness are the key to a conducive environment for baking.

So join us in an intimate environment where we come together and learn to bake the best we can.

The Program (Where, What, When!)
  • Hands-on class (you will make and bring home 8x Blackout Mochi Brownies)
  • Hosted at 21 Bukit Batok Crescent
  • 19th August 2025, Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Only 6 seats available.

Make our very own Blackout Mochi Brownies, with the guidance of our patient and fun instructors and facilitators. Learn, chat, and ask questions, and meet others who share the same love of baking as we all do. Then end the session with a dedicated 10-15 minutes for some photoshoot fun!

Confirmed attendees will receive the exact location via email or SMS.

Come and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with us in a cosy environment! Make new friends with fellow baking enthusiasts, and learn the Bakestarters way (which is fun, we promise!).

What Do I Bring Home?
  1. The printed recipe and tips (or a digital copy if you'd prefer)
  2. 1x Pulut Hitam Swiss Roll
  3. Can we say good memories here or are we too mushy? 
  4. A photoshoot of your bakes at the end!
Terms & Conditions
  1. The class might be extended slightly from the given duration to cater to questions and delays.

  2. No refunds will be given for no-shows. 

  3. No refunds will be given once your booking is confirmed. You may however pass your booking on to someone else, but prior notice will be required for us to register the new ticket holder that will be coming in your place. 

  4. Your booking is confirmed only when full payment has been received. 

  5. We reserve the right to cancel the class on our own discretion, in which case, we’ll do a full refund of tickets.
